The story in this Novel is the true story of the author's journey in pursuit of
his dream to the French state. This story was also praised by the famous
director Riri Riza and Mira Lesmana. The Novel is able to make the reader feel
like drifting and carrying into the story inside.
Andrea
Hirata is a man who likes to dream in living his life. However, that dream he
would try to be true. In his novel he is more telling about his past in
Belitong. So the stories in this Novel are true in the same manner as the
original place of the incident.
The style
of the language used by Andrea Hirata is considered to be a good and very
interesting style, in addition to using Indonesia language also using Malay
language that makes the reader seem a little confusion and must guess what the
meaning of the language. However, the meaning in every Malay language used is
always there at the bottom, so after reading the understanding of the language
used we can redigest the Malay language that had been slightly less
understandable.
The plot
in the Novel is mixed flow, but is more dominant using the advanced flow. The
author uses a first-person perspective, as the author is the main store in this
story. So the story makes curious for the readers so that it wants to quickly
finish reading it. The Novel contains many useful orders for its readers.
Andrea Hirata teaches us not to first despair, if you want to achieve the
desired dream.
The
author describes the characters in this story differently in the way that other
authors usually use.
The main
character of this story is called Ikal he is a tough boy, smart, brave, and
willing to learn for the dream he wants to realize. Lintang is a boy who is
very intelligent, genius, brave, but because of the situation that made him
drop out of school. Mahar's character is a boy who is smart singing,
intelligent, and fond of things – the Unseen (mystery), Mrs. Mus is an
excellent, thoughtful, and highly beloved teacher of her disciples, and many
other figures.
The story
in Laskar Pelangi starts from the life of a child named Ikal who started school
by having to wait for ten children who want to attend school in Ikal. With
Sahara, Trapani, Kucai, Syahdan, Mahar, Lintang, Borek, A Kiong, Bu Mus, Pak
Harfan, and parents waiting if there is one more people who want to go to SD
Muhamaddiyah if, not up to ten children then, they will not be able to go to
school. The elementary School of Muhammadiyah will be completed. For a long
time they waited finally a boy who was fifteen years old and somewhat backward
of his mentality saved his nine friends also SD school Muhamaddiyah. Ikal and
friends are very pleased, they can finally go to SD Muhamaddiyah to achieve
their dreams and minds with his great friends in Belitong.
The
interesting thing about this Novel is that it can evoke us not to despair if,
wanting to achieve a dream. Teaches us to be kind to your fellow friends and
willing to help each other. In his novel, Andrea Hirata is good at going
through the questions that continue to be implied, from the beginning of the
story until the end of the story, meaning from his language and how to read it.
However, with all its beauty and benefits, the Novel makes its readers get a
little trouble because of the Malay language, expressions and decorations in
the sentence make this story a little difficult. Nevertheless, the story is
still captivating and full of content that can be contemplated and translated
deeper.
